How it works

Four steps. About a minute of your time.

SyncNut reads the sound in every clip, finds where they overlap, and hands Resolve a timeline it opens like one of its own.

Why editors use it

The boring part of multicam, done for you.

Built for interviews, podcasts, events and weddings: long takes, many recorders, and cameras that started at different times.

Frame-accurate

A fast pass finds where clips overlap, then a precise pass on the raw waveform lands each one to a fraction of a frame.

Pro cameras, many tracks

Cameras with four or eight audio channels are fine. Silent and hiss-only channels are ignored, and each mic is tried on its own when the mix isn't enough.

Already linked

The synced timeline points at the same media your project uses, so it opens in Resolve with every clip online. Nothing to relink.

Takes back to back

Stops and restarts are grouped into takes and laid end to end in recording order, without hours of empty timeline between them.

Private by design

Decoding and matching happen on your computer. Your footage is never uploaded, so there are no size limits and no waiting on a server.

Nothing to install

It runs in Chrome or Edge on Mac and Windows. No plugin, no account, no update to wait for. Open the page and go.

Your footage stays yours

Nothing leaves your computer.

SyncNut is a web page that does all its work locally. The browser reads only the sound of the clips on your timeline, and the result is a small timeline file you download.

That makes it fast for big shoots and safe for client work under NDA.

  • No upload. Video and audio are decoded inside your browser.
  • No account. Open the app and start. There's nothing to sign up for.
  • Your files untouched. SyncNut only reads. It never changes or moves your media.

Questions

Good to know

Is my footage uploaded anywhere?

No. SyncNut runs inside your browser. It decodes the sound of each clip on your own computer and never sends your media to a server. The only file that comes out is the timeline you download.

Why export a timeline from Resolve first?

The timeline tells SyncNut exactly which clips to sync and which track is which camera. It also carries the links to your media, which is why the synced timeline opens in Resolve with everything already online.

Why do I also pick the footage folder?

A web page can't open files on your disk by itself, so you give it permission by choosing the folder. SyncNut only reads the clips that are on your timeline, and only their sound.

What if a camera recorded no sound?

Clips with no usable sound are placed using the camera's own clock instead. That's usually within about a second, and the app tells you which clips were placed that way so you can check them.

Does it work with long recordings and podcasts?

Yes. Hour-long takes are fine, and SyncNut measures clock drift between recorders and warns you when a device drifts enough to notice.

Is it really free?

Yes. During early access every feature is free with no limits. Later, a paid Pro plan will cover shoots with more than three cameras or recorders. Smaller shoots will stay free.

Which editors are supported?

DaVinci Resolve, both the free version and Studio. Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro are next.

Which browsers work?

Chrome, Edge, Brave and Arc on a Mac or Windows desktop or laptop. It isn't made for phones, since your footage lives on your computer.
